Originally from Nepal, Kripa Joshi won a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue an MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in New York.

 

There she started making comics inspired by folk art traditions of Nepal and India and created the character of Miss Moti, a plump woman whose fertile imagination frequently blurs the line between fantasy and reality.

 

Besides creating comics and illustrations, Kripa also conducts art workshops for children. She is also the UK editor of The Strumpet - a transatlantic feast of lady comics!
